The subject site is located within the settlement development limits of Lisburn City on lands at 70 Belfast Road, Lisburn, BT27 4AU. The application site fronts onto the Belfast Road, comprises a broadly triangular plot of land extending to approximately 2.74 Ha. The site comprises mostly of vacant units, including a Charles Hurst car dealership and associated buildings.
The site is surrounded by residential development as well as a Maxol Service Station, directly to the southwest of the site. The eastern boundary of the site is bounded by the existing railway line. There is further residential development on the opposite side of the Belfast Road, including Derryvolgie Park Lane.
Local bus stops are located at Belfast Road, with services to Belfast c.100metres to the south west of the application site and services to Lisburn City Centre and the wider province c.250metres to the north. The site also benefits from being a 4 minute walk from Hilden Train Station and a 15 minute walk from Lisburn Train Station. Wallace Park is located c.500metres from the site.
